Instinct Gallery is proud to present "Identity Crisis", new works by Brent Houzenga. 2011 starts a new chapter in the catalogue of Mr. Houzenga’s work. While still building on his unique style and process, Houzenga has added a new dimension with his vintage subjects becoming more skeletal and less sacred.

Some wear masks, some are tattooed, some have been given new haircuts, some have baby bodies. All of them have a story this time around. They're not just remnants of a trash bin. These are real people.

Each piece will be accompanied by a recorded manuscript, finally giving the viewer some insight into the lives behind these iconic, yet nameless, images.

Identity Crisis is a giant leap in another direction for Houzenga not only visually but with writing and audio production. The creative process is a hybrid one, one that does not stop mutating.
